Pyramids in Modern Times: Russia

I seem to have developed a bit of a ‘Modern Pyramid’ theme over the last few weeks from Japan’s Shimizu Pyramid to Dubai’s pyramids and Germany’s ‘New Great Pyramid’. So I thought I’d keep that going today with a post on Russia’s new found fondness for buildings with a pointy top.

Here you can view photographs taken of three different pyramid sights in modern Russia. The photographs show the pyramid while it was being built and shows the method of construction. Note the Djed-like pole with four ropes tied to the top in the centre of the pyramid. It has iron rods through the pole to enable it to be used as a ladder.

There is also a video at the bottom of the page that shows the pyramid at varying stages of construction…and if you can speak Russian then you’ll be able to understand what some of the locals and builders think of them.

Pyramids of Russia

It appears that these pyramids were built by Alexander Golod from Moscow, who, In the last 10 years has built 17 pyramids in 8 different locations in Russia.
