Visiting the Egyptian Pyramids

After seeing Andie Byrne’s request for information on the which pyramids were currently open to the public I realised that if I am to create a real information service on the ancient Egyptian pyramids I need to include this sort of information.

So I have begun adding opening times on those pyramids that are currently open to the public to visit. I’ll continue to hunt down the open times of the rest of the pyramids and add them to the ‘Pyramid Fields’ section on the right hand side of the page.

The following information showing those pyramids that are currently open to the public was taken from Yahoo and I am not able to confirm that it is 100% accurate:

Inside the Pyramid of Unas

Giza area
Khufu: 8:30am-4.30pm
Khafre: 8:30am-4.30pm
Menkaure: 8:30am-4.30pm

Djoser complex: 8am-5pm

South Saqqara area: 9am-4.30pm

Meidum area: 9am-4.30pm

Abusir area: open

An Ancient Egyptian Pyramids Photo page has been added and it currently has a fancy Flickr slide show just for your enjoyment.

If anyone has any suggestions or requests or more information to add don’t hesitate to post a comment or email me directly.
